Design V-9 has a lot of characteristics to recommend it. The living - dining room space is big and open which would make it feel larger than it is. The kitchen and breakfast room have easy access to the outside. A good-sized covered porch creates a comfortable outdoor room with fireplace ... quite a wonderful thing for extending the seasons or hosting a barbecue. The two bedrooms and bath are typical of the majority of small house plans designed from 1915 to the present (with the possible exception of our tendency toward humongous closets).
