Plan 1161 is still a small rancher at just 1100 sf, but it has many of the amenities of higher-end home designs that that were offered in the early 1950s. A "zonal" layout became popular after the War with bedrooms separated from living spaces. The living room has the large front window but also provides access to the backyard via a covered patio. The corner kitchen sink with the kitchen nook is cool and we like the easy connection with the over sized garage. The basement version would be our choice.
