By the mid century, the Madison plan was an old plan, and like several other favorites was discontinued soon after publication of the 1951 catalog. A Modern American cottage in the language of the 1929 Home Builders Catalog, the Madison was originally introduced as the Glendale in 1929 and renamed in 1931. The exterior remained essentially unchanged though the original floor plan, seen at Antique Home & Style, was somewhat modified over the years.
